Asquith Primary School

Growing to Succeed

Headteacher's Statement

I have been the Headteacher at Asquith Primary since we opened in 2002.  As you can imagine, after almost 20 years, the school is a big part of my life.  I have taken the decision to retire in July 2022 and the governors are looking to recruit a new headteacher who will lead Asquith to the next level and keep our #AsquithSpirit shining brightly!

I believe that a child’s primary school years should be a learning adventure, where they are inspired to continue to want to learn for the rest of their lives.  Every day should bring new learning experiences and challenges, opportunities to form new friendships and to learn more about the world in which we live.

I am proud of all that we have achieved at Asquith since we opened and that we have consistently provided a good level of education along with a warm and inclusive environment in which children thrive.

Most of all I am proud of our children and the young people that they become. #AsquithSpirit

Our school history

Our school was opened in September 2002, with 12 pupils on roll.  We have taken our name from Herbert Henry Asquith, one of Morley's most famous sons!

In our first year of opening we housed pupils from Summerfield Primary School in Bramley whilst their school was refurbished.  Since then Asquith Primary School has grown from strength to strength and now has 420 pupils on roll.  In September 2012 we were expanded to two form entry and we opened a new KS2 extension in May 2015.

We have been inspected by OFSTED several times during our history and have been judged to be consistently good throughout that time.
